“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable [for He does not withdraw what He has given, nor does He change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call].” (Romans 11:29)

Recently, I came across this verse in my devotional time. It's one of my favorites from years ago. It was life-lesson that I’ve never forgotten.

I was in a season where I was at my lowest. I had felt like I messed things up so badly in my life between God and I, along with truly blowing any further shot in ministry. At some point, I stumbled into finding this verse and it hit me hard.

God wasn't done with me. No matter how badly I messed things up, He still had a plan. I couldn't out-sin the gifts and call of God on my life.

I'm so grateful that God showed me that verse in that season (mainly because it wouldn't be the last time I'd have majorly blown it). It helped dig me out of some dark times. And even more, I've been able to pass along the message to others too.

This is for anyone who has felt like they've made too many mistakes. This is for someone that feels like they're too far gone and don't see a way back to make things good again. This is for the one sitting on the other side of the screen who is tortured by thoughts of failure constantly- I get it. Truly, I do.

God has made His gifts and call without mistake (probably because He knew how much we'd mess up). He'll never change His mind about you. He couldn't love you more than He already does.

The grace and mercy of Jesus allows a do-over. Begin again. It's time for your comeback with God.

“Salvation is not a reward for the good we have done, so none of us can take any credit for it.  It is God himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus; and long ages ago he planned that we should spend these lives in helping others.”

(Ephesians 2:9-10)
