"For the Lord is always good. He is always loving and kind, and his faithfulness goes on and on to each succeeding generation.” (Psalm 100:5)

There is something about salvation and rescue that reveals the deeper character of God that I do not think has crossed my mind before. I am hoping that this comes across well, so here goes-- I do not believe that salvation is such a large theme in Scripture because God has His own form of a god complex.

I also do not believe from Scripture that God gets some sort of ego boost by rescuing His children or delivering them from all their woes. The Cross and redemption were not stunts to show off His power and mastery. God is not almighty for the sake of pride. The root of God’s action and plans are love and nothing else because God is love (1 John 4:16).

Being that love is the cause and root of His action, then God can unquestionably be trusted. Salvation is not just a Vacation Bible School message, but embedded into all we do. We are able as Christian’s because He is able first. Simply, we are because He is.

God's actions, character, and motive are pure. All that He has done and will do in our lives is good because He is good. God can do no wrong because their is no wrong in Him. May this bring comfort to those that need it in this season.

“Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.”

(James 1:17)
