“I know that you can do anything...” (Job 42:2)
The story of Job is amazing. It’s not a fable. It’s not a “once upon a time” fairy tale. The story of Job is a true-life story of what happened to someone.
What strikes me most about Job is not what he lost. Not what he gained back. Not what he endured. What strikes me the most is what Job learned through it all. Job came out of the others side of some of the worst suffering we’ve come across to encounter redemption and at the end of it he wraps it up by saying, “You can do anything God. No one can stop you.”
What about you? With everything you’ve been through, what have you come to understand about God? Can you say what Job said?
While most of us can’t (don’t feel guilty), use that verse to challenge what God is doing in your life. If your conclusion, after everything you’ve been through, isn’t something along the lines of what Job said, then could it be possible that God isn’t done?
God is the author of resurrection. Redemption is part of His character. Life is His essence. Don’t make your bed in the valley of the shadow of death when you’re only meant to pass through.
Keep believing that God is more powerful than your worst. Trust in His love that He wants to rebuild what’s been destroyed. Endure until His work is complete in you. Until you can not just say, but experience what Job did, “God you can do anything and no one can stop you.”
"So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose."
(Romans 8:28)
