“I called to the Lord in my distress, and I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry to Him reached His ears.” (Psalm 18:6)

Recently, I went to a funeral for someone I'd known for years and went to church with. They're health declined quickly which means they didn't suffer for too long, thank God. But I was told a story in their final days that is too good not to share.

A failed surgery kept this person in a coma (they found advanced cancer and immediately closed them back up). The sister was sitting with them in the hospital when a Christian from a local women's ministry that the woman had been involved with visited the hospital to offer prayer and check in. She asked the sister how her faith was, and the sister's reply was that faith was more of her sister's thing, not hers. So then she asked her as question. If she could ask God for one thing, what would it be? Her response was to talk to her sister one more time. So, she prayed for exactly that right there in the moment.

A few days later, her sister finally came out of the coma for a small window, and they spoke. Then shortly after, her health quickly declined, and she passed a couple days later. Her sister couldn't believe what God did for her. And honestly, I know what God can do and I'm still greatly encouraged by this.

Now, I could go on and on about how awesome this story is, but I’ll leave it at this: I love hearing stories like this. It is amazing to see the creativity of God to meet us in our most helpless moments. And I know if he'll do it for others, he'll do it for us too.

“I cry aloud to the Lord, and He answers me from His holy mountain.Selah”

(Psalm 3:4)
