"…she immediately got up and served them." (Luke 4:39)
This woman serves as a wonderful reminder to us. The moment she was healed, she didn't go eat to nourish herself, tell others her experience, or whatever else could be on that woman's list of things that fell behind in her house when she fell ill. Heck, there wasn’t even a mention of amazement that some portions of Scripture notate when miracles or healings occur. She simply got up and immediately served Jesus and those in his company.
This is how gratitude behaves. Gratitude reacts in service for all that's been given. May we mimic this woman.
What has God given or done in your life that deserves this type of response where you need to immediately get up and serve? I know it certainly makes me think. This is the perfect time to do so though.
As you go about your busy holiday, prepping a meal or seeing loved ones, keep this in the back of your mind. Instead of getting stressed and overwhelmed with all the necessities of doing, try and keep a mindset of service. For all that Jesus has done…gladly serve.
Happy Thanksgiving y'all. I'm grateful for every set of eyes that scan over this post
“For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”
(Galatians 5:13)
