Momentum For Monday, June 5th 2023

"And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago." (Ephesians 1:12-14)

The reason why the battle of mental health is so difficult and dangerous is because it's one we cannot see. Mental illness, anxiety, disorders, and anything of the like are an inside issue. It's a war within ourselves. And left to deal with it by ourselves, it can be deadly.

However, God does not set His children up for failure. Instead, He has given us a weapon or two in this battle, not to lessen the intensity for toleration, but to overcome it completely. He has set us up for victory.

God has given us the Holy Spirit, who is an advocate and helper within us. Jesus was referred to as Immanuel, meaning God WITH us (Matthew 1:23), but when Jesus ascended, he left us with the Holy Spirit, which is God IN us. 

The power and help you need is in you. You might feel weak. You may even feel defeated. Regardless of what is at work against you though, you have power at work within you. Hang in there and keep asking God to help you partner with Him.

"Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes. May he be given glory forever and ever through endless ages because of his master plan of salvation for the Church through Jesus Christ."
