“…the people had a mind to work.” (Nehemiah 4:6)
Mindset is everything. And every mindset starts with one thought. One small thought of possibility is all it takes to start a revolution in your own life.
In the book of Nehemiah, Jerusalem laid in ruins. When Nehemiah got report over the devastation, he was overwhelmed with grief. Then he decided to do something about it.
With permission of the king, Nehemiah set out to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem. He gathered workers and started his work. Scripture says that they had a mind to work.
Nehemiah holds much wisdom in transforming our lives. The things that grieve us that we long to change require a mind that will do the work to see it through. Nehemiah couldn’t stay in grief and just desire change or wait for someone else to act. He mourned then moved.
What do you long to rebuild in your life? Prepare your mind for it. You can’t have the desire to see mental wellness with a negative posture inside. An overhaul of transformation in your life will not occur by staying in grief.
Any great change and recovery in life will take more than a wish. It may start there, but it will require a set pattern of thinking for change. Otherwise, you will keep reaping the same things you repeatedly have sown in your life.
"Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ"
(1 Peter 1:13)
